Comming from spain, plancha developped on the Compostelle roads; a steel plate was set on the fire, food was baked by beeing in contact. This baking technique get disused before to come back with the Basque festival (« fêtes Basques »). Plancha allows you to cook outside as well as indoor, the set up is quite simple. Baking with plancha is healthy for fat is drained off as the baking goes on, and furthermore food keeps his soft texture and savor. Plancha has a great baking capacity, indispensable for celebration meals, but today it is mostly used for the quickness and quality of the baking with it.
